Chen Xi, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense
Chen Xi, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense China's Ministry of National Defense on Friday urged the Philippine side to immediately stop its illegitimate acts violating China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, and stop its provocations and propaganda, and vowed to take firm and effective countermeasures against any provocative attempts to make waves and stir up troubles in the South China Sea.
Chen Xi, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks in response to media inquiry about claims by Philippine National Maritime Council that drills by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command in the territorial waters and airspace of China's Huangyan Dao as well as its surrounding areas are "deemed illegal" after the Philippines deposited its so-called official nautical chart of Huangyan Dao and its surrounding maritime zones with the United Nations (UN).
Huangyan Dao is China's inherent territory. China has continuously, peacefully and effectively exercised sovereignty and jurisdiction over Huangyan Dao, and is the only country entitled by international law to declare the baselines of the territorial sea of Huangyan Dao, Chen noted.
Relevant actions of the Philippine side seriously violated China's territorial sovereignty, international law and the basic norms of international relations. They are illegal, null and void, Chen said.
Chen noted that PLA's exercises stand as a serious warning against violations and provocations by the Philippine side. These are necessary and legitimate measures to safeguard China's sovereignty over Huangyan Dao and China's rights and interests.
In fact, since its independence in 1946, the Philippines has expanded its claims of territory and jurisdictional waters through domestic legislation while claiming following international law. Its behavior has led to wide wariness and dissatisfaction as well as resolute opposition from other littoral countries to the South China Sea, the spokesperson added.

。    A behind-the-scenes image from Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan has set social media abuzz. The photo, shared by a fan on Instagram, features Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh in full Indian Army uniform as they pose for a quick selfie on the film’s set. The viral moment offers the first candid glimpse of the stars embodying their military roles in the highly anticipated project.     Salman Khan recently wrapped up a start-to-end 45-day shoot in Leh, Ladakh, completing the film’s primary schedule by mid-September. The actor then moved into the final leg of production from mid-October, with filming expected to conclude by the end of November. The first look of the film, unveiled on July 4, had already created buzz—showing Salman with bloodstains on his face and a rugged moustached avatar.     Reports indicate that Salman portrays Colonel B Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led his troops during the Galwan Valley clash of June 2020. The real-life confrontation between Indian and Chinese soldiers along the Line of Actual Control resulted in the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers and significant casualties on the Chinese side.                                                                 View this post on Instagram          A post shared by Salmankhan fans club (@neelikhan786)                     Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan draws from a chapter of India’s Most Fearless 3 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, a bestselling book chronicling extraordinary stories of courage within the Indian armed forces. The film aims to bring to life the intensity of the standoff that occurred amid the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the raw, close-combat nature of the clash.     Chitrangda Singh, who plays a key role, earlier admitted she felt “a bit nervous” joining the project because of Salman’s massive fan following. “I’m glad they accepted me with their Salman, their hero. It’s been good so far,” she told HT.     Battle of Galwan is slated for a 2026 theatrical release. Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar and is currently preparing for the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19, scheduled for December 7.Also Read: Salman Khan Drops Stunning New Photo As His Birthday Month Begins。
